TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Welding Institute, was formed in 1993 to exemplify the independence and impartiality required to deliver certification in accordance with international standards.
Accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17024: General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons and ISO/IEC 17065: Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services, TWI CL provides certification that meets the needs of individuals, companies and training organisations alike through its portfolio of certification schemes and products.
All TWI CL activities are performed under the volunteer stakeholder governance of the Certification Management Board, and its Management Committees, all of which are made up of representatives from industry, such as BP Exploration and Production, National Grid Gas plc, Network Rail, Lloyd’s Register, Rolls-Royce and Shell. As such, TWI CL understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification and qualification activities, managing conflict of interest, and ensuring the objectivity of all certification and qualification decisions.
TWI CL certifications are an integral source of third-party certification. They provide assurance to industry of the competence and compliance of its people, products and procedures and act as a comprehensive source of client confidence and industry compliance on a worldwide scale.
